FLSA STATUS: Exempt CURRICULUM RESPONSIBILITIES: Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students. Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation. upon request of immediate supervisor. Encourages students to maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with those goals establishes and communicates clear objectives to students for all lessons and units. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the Iocation provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Evaluates the learning problems of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as needed and/or required. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) where applicable. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. Maintains an environment that enables students to have positive self- esteem.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and appropriate manner. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as needed. Supervises in the halls and cafeteria as scheduled by the administrator. Reports incidents of suspected child abuse to Building Principal and Division of Family Services. Obeys all rules and policies established by the Board of Education and Administration. Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrator during the contracted school day.
COMMUNITY/PUBLIC RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education- related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Serves as a class or club sponsor as agreed. Works to promote a positive school-community relationship with the partnering of parents, students, teachers, administration, school board, business, law enforcement, etc. to promote the best learning environment for a child in the district. |
