Pleasant Hope Schools is seeking applicants for the position of Elementary School (PK-4) Counselor. This position would be a 10 month position for the 2026-27 school year. As a member of the Guidance and Counseling Department, the Counselor is to provide and implement a comprehensive guidance and counseling program for students.  The counselor provides activities to meet the needs of the students; consults with teachers, staff, and parents to enhance their effectiveness in helping students; provides support to other educational programs; and implements an evaluation system to determine impact of the guidance and counseling program on relevant student outcomes. Duties also include crisis management on individual and group level as the needs arise with students as well as education in the areas of character building among the student body.

In addition to placement on salary schedule, this position will have 20 extra days counselor stipend (10 days before start of school year and 10 days after the school year)

 

 

 

POSITION: Elementary Counselor 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Education: Master's degree in education 
  2. Certification: Guidance counselor certification
  3. Experience: Minimum of three years as a classroom teacher, preferred

Reports to: Building Principal 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Teacher contract days plus 20 additional days
